  • Rengin JOHNSON
    Ayse Rengin Johnson - Attorney

    Ms. Ayse Rengin Dengizer-Johnson was born in Instabul, Turkey. From the age of 10, she grew up and attended school in the United Kingdom.

    She attended North London University in London, England and obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Law and was admitted to the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 1981 and called to the degree of an Utter Barrister in 1983.

    In 1992 she was admitted to the Bahamas Bar.

    She is a qualified Barrister-Counsel and Attorney-at-Law, Former Deputy Chief Magistrate and Circuit Justice.

    Rengin is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the CIArb Bahamas Branch since 2012. The former 2nd and 1st Vice-Chair, and now the current Chair of CIArb Bahamas Branch.

    She is a member of the ADR Bahamas.

    In 2017 Rengin represented the Judicial Department of the Bahamas in San Salvador by attending the International Law Enforcement Academic (ILEA) Public Ethics Course.

    She is a Life Member of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) and represented the Bahamas in 2017 as Country Vice President. In addition, Rengin was accredited to the Bahamas delegation to attend UN Commission on Women CSW in 2017-2018.

    In 2017-2019 Rengin was the Director and Chairman, Ethics & Legislative Committee of Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce.

    She has been a Rotarian since 1996, former and present President of the Rotary Club of Freeport and the Rotary Club of Grand Bahama, respectively. 2018-2019, Rengin also served as the Assistant Governor of Rotary District 6990.

    Rengin’s lifelong desire was to become a qualified Barrister- Lawyer to practice the law, ascend to the Bench, and finally open her law firm in a style and practice representing her values, principles, and motto.

    Since the late 90s, Rengin provided Legal aid through her radio show titled “Scales of Justice”.

    In August 2000, Rengin established the law firm of Ayse Rengin Dengizer Johnson & Co., a proud continuation of her family tradition, which has produced a long line of judges and lawyers.



  • OSMAN JOHNSON
    Osman Johnson - Attorney

    Mr. Osman Rasin Cornelius Johnson was born in Freeport, Grand Bahama, on the 28th of May 1984 to the late Barrister and Attorney at Law Lloyd C. Johnson III and Barrister and Attorney at Law and Attorney at Law, FCIArb Ayse Rengin Johnson. 

     

    In 1998 after completing his primary education in Sunland School Freeport, Grand Bahama, Mr. Johnson moved to the United Kingdom, where he commenced his secondary education at Our Lady of Zion, Worthing, Sussex, England. 

     

    In 2002, he graduated from lancing College Independent Boarding School, Sussex. Then Rasin attended Oxford Brookes University in Oxford, United Kingdom, and graduated in 2008 with an LLB Honours Degree. 

     

    Rasin became a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and was called to the Utter Bar of the Society in October 2010. He was awarded an LLM in Advanced Legal Practice from the University of Northumbria Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England.  

     

    In April 2011, he was admitted to the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.  

     

    Rasin has been involved in community initiatives in his father’s native island of Eleuthera, matters relating to local opposition to the construction of low-cost, low-quality modular homes and the sensitive issues relating to child molestation, underage sex and teenage pregnancy.  

     

    In the pursuit of his career, Rasin has joined the family law firm of his mother, Ayse Rengin Dengizer Johnson & Co., located in Freeport, Grand Bahama, and continues to involve himself in the local community through his regular attendance at Grand Bahama Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club functions.  

     

    He is an activist regarding matters relating to the responsibility and the role of the Judiciary. Conservation of the environment, upholding human rights, equal opportunities and worldwide peace. Rasin is a famous guest orator by social media regarding jurisprudence, current economic and social issues, including the rule of law.  

     

    Rasin, on behalf of his clients, has appeared before the Court of Appeal and the Privy Council.  

     

    In May 2011, he was a political candidate of the Democratic National Alliance during the general elections in the Bahamas.

Legal aid is available for individuals who are unemployed or earning minimum wage to provide access to justice, equality before the law.* The motivation behind establishing the service was Ms. Johnson's desire to assist persons with no financial means of acquiring legal advice.
